The 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2nd Gen) devices feature a fully-laminated, antireflective 12.9-inch LED-backlit 2732x2048 (264 ppi, DCI-P3 colour gamut) touch-sensitive "Retina" display. These models support a then new "ProMotion technology" that provides a 120 Hz refresh rate for smoother animations and lower latency when using the Apple Pencil accessory.

The 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2nd Gen) models are powered by an Apple A10X processor, have 4 GB of RAM, and either 64 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB of flash memory storage.

Other noteworthy features include dual cameras -- a rear-mounted 12 megapixel "iSight" camera capable of shooting stills and 4K video and a front-mounted 7 megapixel "FaceTime HD" camera capable of shooting stills and 1080p HD video and Bluetooth 4.2, as well as dual microphones and two sets of stereo speakers.

Connectivity to computers, if desired, and power is provided by a Lightning port. A "Smart Connector" provides connectivity for a size-specific Apple Smart Keyboard. Additional input also is available courtesy of an optional "Apple Pencil", which provides a variety of pressure sensitive sketching and drawing options.
